Historic typed letter signed to a fellow Congressman, seeking support for the creation of what became NATO, in part: "We, the undersigned, joined on January 15 in reintroducing into the House the Atlantic Union Resolution (H. Con. Res. 26-33, 35, 37 and 48) which has gathered increasing support...We believe that this Resolution provides a practical and effective means of achieving the greater unity of the North Atlantic countries which has now become essential..."
