Chesebrough of 11th U.S. Infy, now Aid de Camp upon the staff of Brig Genl Schenck, & from the representations made to me by friends...I feel justified in recommending him...& in believing that the bestowal of a field-office upon him would not only reward a meritorious officer but add efficiency to the service."
