1930. Scarce inscribed signed photograph, 8" x 10", black and white, a shoulder-up image of Speaks dressed in a suit, inscribed to his friend and performing rights society pioneer H.C. Branch: "Sincerely Yours, Oley Speaks, 1930." Ironically, Speaks served as Director of ASCAP from 1924 - 1943. One minuscule chip at the top left hand margin; otherwise fine condition. American tin-pan-alley composer and songwriter credited with over 250 compositions including the standards "On the Road to Mandalay," "Sylvia," and "Morning."..... More
