"Matthew Arnold", 8vo. 1 page, black-boardered and blind stamped 'Atheneum Club - Pall Mall', October 15th 1874, confirming his arrival time, in full: "As you rightly suppose, I mean to come by the 10:18 train on Monday, and it will be very kind of you to meet me. I am told that I am able to come myself this year. My assistant will come down by an earlier train." Two very tiny holes at the left-hand margin.....
