Plains, GA: 1977. 3.5 x 6.5-inch First Day Cover commemorating President Carter's Inauguration Day. Signed in full by the 39th President and postmarked in his birthplace -- Plains, Georgia -- on January 20, 1977, the day of his inauguration. The envelope features a black-and-white bust-portrait of Carter and a smaller image of the White House. Float-mounted on a gray background with a white matte; set in a black and gold frame measuring 10 x 12.5 inches. Near fine condition.
Atlanta: 1981. 9 x 6 inches on personal embossed stationery with the presidential seal, together with the original free franked envelope. The typed portion of the letter reads: "October 13, 1981. To Kitty Hart, It was great to see you at the National Mental Health Association Dinner. Rosalynn and I enjoyed being with you on this special evening. With best wishes, Sincerely, Jimmy." The handwritten postscript says: "I've enjoyed all our evenings together! J." Horizontal fold; very good(+) condition.
