Description: A Farce of Two Acts. As it is performed at the Theatre-Royal in Drury-Lane. 54pp., 8vo, modern plain wrappers; worn, tear to lower front corner. London: J. Newbery, 1759. A very good copy

Comments: "This is a very good farce," says Genest. George Selwyn expressed his satisfaction which is a relief from `Low Life above Stairs.'...The plot is rudimentary--that of a long-suffering master disguising himself in order to detect the rogueries of his servants...The printed book was also successful, and went through many editions, as was translated into German and French, and has been frequently produced on the stage in all parts of the world." DNB XIX, p.1028. Halkett and Laing III, p.37.

Let me take a moment to let you know how pleased I am not only with your timeliness and help, but also your honesty and commitment to your customers. As an instructor at Duquesne University, I am always telling my students about responsibility and, lately, some of the book dealers have given me unnecessary difficulties... I am very pleased with the service I received from your company and will inform my fellow faculty members that they can look forward to professional service from your book shop. Again many thanks and I look forward to future dealings with your company. - Tom W.
