Diseases which attack the brain in the infancy concerns Coindet, the Medical Chief of the civil and military hospitals of Geneva, who concentrates on hydrencephalous, "one of the most dangerous diseases". He delineates the chronic and acute stages of the ailment; the kinds of infants who are most susceptible to it; case history observations. Those most likely to contract the condition, according to Coindet, are those scusceptible to inflammatory ills. It is a predisposition in the nervous system, which is probably weak to begin with.
