Description: 1 page, 9.75 x 7.75 inches, on heavy lined paper, Omaha, Nebraska, July 29, 1872. Written by the Union Major General, occasionally involved in the Indian wars, to the Governor of the Wyoming Territories regarding William Lawson's attempt to purchase land from the Cheyenne for the railroad, in part: " friend W. Lawson of Louisville, who visits Cheyenne on business - perhaps it may be in your favor to aid W. Lawson in the matter he has in hand..." Horizontal and vertical folds; very good(+) condition.
