Comments: Pascoli's oft-reprinted anatomical work, bound with Baglivi's important treatise on the structure of muscle fibers and the properties of saliva, bile, and blood. Baglivi, a student of Malpighi, and the physician who performed the autopsy on the latter, was the first to distinguish between smooth and striated muscles. This work, in the form of a letter to Pascoli, was first published in 1700 and made its author "one of the most important students of muscle physiology before Albrecht von Haller." (DSB).

I spent an incredibly pleasant three hours in your bookstore today, my first visit despite living in Brooklyn for nearly 20 years. Thank you so much for your careful selection of books and the more than reasonable prices. Wishing you another 100 years (at least) of success... you're a big part of what makes NYC such a vibrant and exciting place to live. - Chris W.
