Description: Rare promotional record for a single on the Lover Records label. The original 7.75 x 7.5-inch envelope mailer gives the title as "Topsy" (while the record itself says "Turvy I" b/w "Turvy II") and is imprinted "From New York's famous Metropole Cafe." A relic from the days of "payola" when radio DJs were paid outright for playing records on the air. Boldly signed "Most Sincerely, Cozy Cole" on the envelope mailer. New York, no date, circa 1955. The envelope is slightly torn and browned on the top edge and is in very good(-) condition. The record itself is in very good(+) condition.

I must confess that one of the best parts of any trip I make to NYC is to visit your bookstore and be received with such kindness. Today I had two big pleasures: Argosy and Renne Flemming's performance... If I have time on this trip I will again pass by your store again, otherwise I will contact you from Brazil. Best regards, - Eduardo
