Description: A Manual of the Phanerogams and Pteridophytes of Western Texas. 3 plates. 588pp. + 201 leaves. 8vo, rebacked in burgundy cloth; hinges reinforced. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1891-94. First Edition. Very good.

Comments: A pioneer study, of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Division of Botany, being Volume 2 of Contributions from the U.S. National Herbarium. In this copy there has been bound in at the end about 200 ruled leaves, apparently for the purposes of annotation. Only a few leaves have been utilized, page one containing hand sketches in pencil of native plants, and laid in two additional sketches on a piece of loose-leaf tracing paper.

The Easton Press Rubens and Dali have just arrived in England - posted on 15th January and arrived here on 17th January. The books are splendid, but how you get out the shipping so quickly I am at a loss to understand! But many thanks - Roger F.
