Typed Letter Signed on "New York Times Washington Bureau" letterhead

Washington, D.C. 1958.

1 page, 10.5 x 7.25 inches, Washington, D.C., January 14, 1958 -- a reasoned reply to a letter, disputing the correspondent's point. In part: "...but honestly I think you are being unfair to me personally. The Times Washington report from September, 1955, when the President was first stricken, until the end of the election of 1956 contained more analytical information about the consequences of a sick President than any paper in the country. So far as I am concerned personally, I not only continued to write about Presidential disability and Presidential weaknesses otherwise, but actually won the Pulitzer Prize in 1956 for precisely this coverage..." Horizontal folds; very good condition.

Outstanding letter by the New York Times columnist and editor.

Binding: Unbound
