Description: Second Edition, Comprising the Mollusca. Edited by W. G. Binney. 12 fine chromolithographic plates with tissue guards, 405 text illustrations, 524pp. Large 8vo, original green cloth. Boston: Wright and Potter, 1870. Very good.

Comments: The first edition of this work (1841) "was the first monograph published in the United States that attempted to describe the entire molluskan fauna of a geographical region." (D.S.B) Gould was at work on this revision at the time of his death, and was succeeded in this effort by W. G. Binney, the son of Amos Binney, whose own posthumous work on the Mollusks of the United States had been completed by Gould in 1857. Plates and text illustrations of the present work are numbered continuously with those of the first edition. The woodcuts are by Harry Marsh, illustrator of Harris's Insects, with color plates after drawings by Gould, Alexander Agassiz, J. Burkhardt, E.S. Morse and others.

Dear Argosy, I just finished watching TV. Now I know there is the old books store called Argosy in Manhattan, New York. I've been looking for first edition of Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott. Do you have it? If you do please let me know. - Itoko Kadooka
