This wonderful city plan of Leningrad or modern day St. Petersburg is a tourist map with text in Finnish, issued circa 1960. Printed on both sides, the front includes a street map of the city along with important tourist information regarding hotels, transportation details, etc. The verso of the map features a photo brochure with Finnish text describing places of interest. Publishers logo - NHTYPNCT (with backward 'N's) is included on both sides. Cover features a photograph of a statue of Lenin, after whom this city was named at the time. Leningrad, part of the USSR at the time this map was issued, was originally named Saint Petersburg before the name changed to Petrograd in 1914 and to Leningrad in 1924 following Lenin's death. It would be renamed St. Petersburg in 1991. This map is in good condition with some toning and wear along the folds. Minor holes at fold intersections have been repaired.
