6 x 4.5 inches set to 10 x 8 inches, signed on the mount, sepia-toned, taken by New York photographer "Manderdon," depicting a three-quarters image of Chayes standing with his hands behind his back. Inscribed: "To my dear, good friend David Slone - Herman E.S. Chayes - Nov. 1st 1906." Signed at the age of 26! Chayes died of the fever at the age of 53. Near fine condition.

Ukrainian-born American dentist and prosthodontist best known for the "Chayes Method of replacing lost teeth" and the procedure for allowing %u201CMoveable - Removable Bridgework."
