1 page, 10.75 x 8.25 inches, Boston, September 23, 1933. Five scientific books are in the process of completion, covering Geology, Geography, Glaciology, Oceanography, Meteorology, Magnetism, Biology and Radio...Would you this time be willing to supply me with some Eskimo Parkas (or coats) which would, of course, help insure the safety of some of my crew. The cost of these parkas are $75.00 each. If you are not able to do this, could you supply a sleeping bag at $50.00, or a pair of Eskimo boots at a cost of $10.00..." Signed "RE Byrd." Double-matted in brown and white with a 6.5 x 4.5-inch photo of Byrd in his military uniform, looking to the side. Set in brown and gold wooden frame measuring 20.5 x 23.5 inches.
