Description: 1 page, 12.75 x 16 inches, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, April 26, 1813. This partly printed document grants a license for a House of Entertainment with permission to serve: "Rum, Brandy, Beer, Ale...and all other Spirituous Liquors...provided that the proprietor shall not at anytime...suffer drunkenness, unlawful gaming, or any other disorders..." Boldly signed "Simon Snyder" on the hinge of the embossed State seal. Archivally affixed to a brown matte and placed in a simple wooden brown frame measuring 17.5 x 20.75 inches with plexus glass. Very good(+) condition.

Comments: Third Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, serving three terms from 1808 to 1817.

You've got yourself one happy customer at this end, folks. I've been looking for another copy of "West of the Indus" for nearly twenty years (I know, it's such a cultural wasteland out here in the provinces), and I never expected to find one with a dust jacket. I am amazed. Thank you so much. I've enjoyed many books over the years, but this one has always been one of my favorites.
