Description: Scarce greeting card issued in honor of the 53rd Anniversary of the Soviet Army and Navy, embossed with a hammer and sickle, star, and shield, circa 1971. Measures 3.5 x 7.5 inches; opens to 15.5 inches wide. Slight smudge at the bottom of the signature, but still in fine condition.

Comments: Russian military hero during World War II at the battles for the South Caucus (1945). Achieved the rank of Marshall of the Soviet Union at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis and one year later was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense by Khrushchev (1963).
