Description: 1 page, 10.5 x 7.25 inches, Washington, D.C., no date, circa 1974. Sent to a friend along with the book "Believing: The Nature of Belief and its Role in our Lives" by Eugene Kennedy, who had interviewed McCarthy for the book. 216 pages (edges foxed), 8vo, two-toned green cloth, dust wrapper (edge-worn), published in Garden City by Doubleday in 1974. The letter and book are both in very good(-) condition; the letter has one natural fold and a crease along the right edge. The letter reads in full: "Dear Ray- Here is the Kennedy Book. I knew I could or would get it more quickly than Sargent. Thank you for a nice weekend although the experience on the grass tennis court has spoiled me for clay & plastic. Best Gene McCarthy. Note corrections in text."
