Comments: Early map of Connecticut and Rhode Island printed during the French Indian War. Although the map itself is small, the scale of this map is quite big and it is beautifully engraved. Includes part of New York and Long Island as well as "P. of Massachusets Bay Province". It is in very good condition. Two folds as issued. Thomas Kitchin (1719-1784) was an English engraver and map-maker. His maps and atlases of England earned him the position of hydrographer to the King. Kitchin produced many maps for The London Magazine which was founded in 1732 and is still published today.
