Description: 1 page, 9.75 x 6.25 inches, Auribeau, France, August 17, 1949. Signed in pencil by the famous hostess and author, proposing a series of articles on entertaining, in part: "...I could smash to smithereens Emily Post's boring books on etiquette which are simply bunk from beginning to end... I could easily prove that as 'a world-acknowledged authority' what rubbish all this is and why. They could be tart and sharp, and I could give illustrations which would amaze even you..." Wrinkling at the lower right corner; faint rusted paperclip stain in the left margin. Very good(-) condition.

Dear Argosy - you've made my day - my order (Netherlands at War, 1940-1945) arrived on my doorstep this morning unheralded and very, very welcome. My sisters and I are Dutch immigrants in New Zealand and we all lived through that war 60 plus years ago as young kids.
