Description: 1 page, 2.5 x 6 inches, Boston, January 21, 1767. A receipt for "Gauging the Cargo of the Brig William & Mary," with the recipient's note on verso giving Turner's rank as Captain. There's a small piece of paper affixed to verso from earlier mounting. Very good condition and scarce.

Comments: American patriot, sea captain, and suspected participant in the Boston Tea Party.

Dear Argosy. THANK YOU very very much. I ordered the book "A Case of Removal of the Lower Jaw, for Osteo-Sarcoma of Immense Size" by George C. Blackman. I was pleased beyond words just to think that I was getting an original copy of a book that my great great grandfather wrote. When it arrived it was an even bigger treasure for me, as his own handwriting was in the upp right corner of the cover, giving the book to a fellow colleague.
