Description: Decorations by E.H. Shepard. Pictorial end-papers, orange cloth, d.w. New York: Dutton, (1927). First American Edition.

Comments: The binding is slightly rubbed, and a few preliminary pages are lightly creased; the inner hinge has been neatly mended & the final illustration has been lightly colored by the owner. The dust wrapper is worn on the spine and heavily mended on the verso. However this is a "speshal" book, being inscribed on the half-title as follows: "For Phyllis/ because she is so speshal too - With love from her god-father/ Alan Alexander Milne". Inscribed American editions of Milne books are uncommon, and it is rare for him to sign his full names. Obviously a very loved book.

Thank you very much for the fast delivery of my books. They were exactly in the condition you described and one of the volumes contained a very interesting dinner invitation and menu. Thank you very much, as well, for cost-effectively sending parcel via normal US Post. - C. Wallace
