Description: 3 x 5.5-inch Envelope addressed in his hand to "Dr. John William Draper - M. D. & L.L.D. - New York City," affixed with two Scott #64 3c Washington stamps (variety unknown), postmarked Mount Vernon, May 3, 1866. Draper (1811 - 1882) was an American scientist, chemist, historian, and pioneer photographer who is credited with taking the first image of a female's face in 1839. He is also the founder of NYU Medical School. Draper has docketed the envelope "Gen. Morgan." A wonderful association piece considering the fact that Draper is rare in any form. Fine condition with clear postal makings and cancellation.

Dear Argosy, I just finished watching TV. Now I know there is the old books store called Argosy in Manhattan, New York. I've been looking for first edition of Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott. Do you have it? If you do please let me know. - Itoko Kadooka
