Description: 1 page on "Department Of The Interior - United States Indian Service" letterhead, 10.5 x 8 inches, Phoenix, Arizona, December 20, 1913. Written to Rev. Walter L. Bennett (future Rector of Trinity Church in New York City), appreciating his solace during difficult times, in part: "...I cannot tell you how much good your beautiful sermons did me last summer and what strength and uplift I derived from them. I often longed to talk to you and tell you my troubles...but did not seem to find the opportunity..." Natural folds; near fine condition.

Comments: Woman's Suffrage advocate who served in the cabinets of Presidents McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. She was the featured speaker at a Suffrage Convention held in upstate New York in 1894.
