Description: 2 pages, 10.5 x 7.25 inches, Hollywood, November 19, 1951, in small part: "...I don't know if I will make the Celebrities' Tournament...from what I hear Washington, D.C. is so crowded with generals and brass, office holders, patronage purveyors, crooked politicians and the like, maybe it would be better if I didn't go. I haven't seen our mutual friend, Sam [Snead], in a year or so but of course I keep track of him through the newspapers and he's still winning a lot of money. Some one told me a story about him the other day which is amusing: When the Professional Golfers of the U.S. played the British Ryder Cup Team...it conflicted with a gigantic football game. The football promoters prevailed on the Golf promoters to cancel their tournament for one day...and arranged bus transportation to the game and seats for all the golf players, plus a nice dinner. Everyone showed up but Sam. Where do you think he was? That's right, he was playing an exhibition! Never lets a day go by without taking advantage of an opportunity to pick up an honest buck." Natural folds; paperclip impression in the top margin. Very good condition.

Dear Sir, I received two autographed letters yesterday, much faster than I expected! I'm a fan of Anne Morrow Lindbergh and I happened to find this item when I was browsing her books... The letters look great and I'm very happy to read her own writing in my hand. Thank you very much for your great business. - Toshihiko Hori
