Description: 1 page, 6.75 x 6 inches, West Dennis, Massachusetts, September 30, 1927, declining an invitation, in part: "...Thank you for your kind invitation to be your guest on October sixteenth. Unfortunately, we will stay down on the Cape through October, and thus will be unable to be in New York. I want to thank you for your hospitality at the Harvard Club last week. It was a pleasure to see you again. I am so glad the broadcast went off well..." One horizontal fold and a tiny stain; still very good condition.

Comments: American political scientist, journalist, eugenicist, and anti-immigration advocate whose works have been cited as "prominent examples of 20th century scientific racism." An inscribed copy of his most famous book "The Rising Tide of Color against White World Supremacy" (1920) was found in Dr. Josef Mengele's library.
