Description: 1 page, 11 x 8.5 inches, Pittsburgh, June 21, 1951, written on personal letterhead while running for Supreme Court Justice of Pennsylvania, to Presidential elector and delegate Dr. David Rothman, in part: "...I appreciate your sending me the clipping from THE OXFORD NEWS, and, of course, am thrilled that the Chester County Democratic Executive Committee has endorsed my candidacy for the Supreme Court..." Two horizontal folds; boldly signed and in very good condition.

Comments: American jurist and Rear Admiral in the United States Navy during World War ll. He is best remembered as the Appellate Attorney for Saco and Vanzetti and as a presiding judge at several of the subsequent Nuremberg Trials, including those of Field Marshall Milch and Oswald Pohl. He later was a powerful witness in Jerusalem against Adolf Eichmann.

I just finished reading about the store and your family in Nick Basbanes newest book, Patience & Fortitude. I had previously read an article in Book magazine. I wished that I lived near so I could visit your store, it looks and sounds like a place I dream of getting lost in. Basbanes book mentioned that your father began a memoir but was, sadly, unable to finish the work. Would it be in anyway possible to read what must be a great historical adventure in bookselling?
