Description: 1 page, 11 x 8.5 inches, Pittsburgh, July 27, 1951. Written while running for Supreme Court Justice of Pennsylvania, to Presidential elector and delegate Dr. David Rothman, in part: "...I shall always remember how good you were to me that evening in West Chester when the Executive Board approved my candidacy and I want to express my appreciation..." Small tear along one fold; tiny chip in the upper left corner; still very good condition.
Comments: American jurist and Rear Admiral in the United States Navy during World War ll. He is best remembered as the Appellate Attorney for Saco and Vanzetti and as a presiding judge at several of the subsequent Nuremberg Trials, including those of Field Marshall Milch and Oswald Pohl. He was later a powerful witness in Jerusalem against Adolf Eichmann.Signed: Y
