Description: 1 page on personal letterhead, 9 x 6.75 inches, Jerusalem, November 6, 1960. Written several days before he embarked on an official visit to the United States, translated in full: "I am greatly indebted to you for having sent me the proofs of my speech to the teacher's conference. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the work, mostly because of my trip to the U.S.A. of which I leave this week on behalf of the Zionist organization. Under the circumstances I have no choice but to trust that you and Noah Nardi will polish-up any stylistic errors. Maybe you should add a note that the speech is reprinted from the transcript, without the speaker having edited it." When Sharett wrote this letter, he didn't know if he would be getting an audience with President-elect Richard Nixon or John F. Kennedy. His felt that if Kennedy were elected, he would waste no time seeking an audience in order to reconfirm America's commitment to the State of Israel. Two horizontal folds and two punch holes in the right margin; otherwise fine condition.

Comments: Israeli Statesman, First Foreign Minister (1948 - 1956), and Prime Minister of Israel (1954 - 1955).
