Description: 2 pages (front and back), 8 x 7 inches, Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, October 12, 1957, to her friend Lady Jane Clark, written at a time in her life when she was taking large amounts of anti-depressants, in part: "...I'd love to come on the 18th but if you will not think me rude - may I come if it is a really small party as I am not feeling at all well yet...goodness knows what shape my face will be? I would not like to disgrace you." [At some point Vivien Leah returns to the letter and adds a postscript] "P.S. Jane: I'm very sad that I'm unable to attend." Two folds; very good(+).

Comments: English stage and film actress best known for her Academy Award winning roles in "Gone With The Wind" and "A Streetcar Named Desire."
