Comments: Each volume has a 1, 2, or 5 page autographed letter written by the author tipped in + a small 5 page letter in an separate envelope. Prince Philippe d'Orleans, Count of Paris (Louis Philippe Albert) 1838-1894, was the grandson of Louis Phillippe I, King of the French, the last French ruler. A historian, journalist and democrat, he volunteered to serve as a Union Army officer in the American Civil War. His history of that war is considered a standard reference work.
