Description: Excellent typed letter signed "Jayne" on the back of an oversize black-and-white photograph-postcard, measuring 10 x 4 inches, depicting a full-body image of Mansfield in a swimsuit and high heels. Beverly Hills, August 31, 1957, written to Philadelphia Inquirer editor Harry Harris, sharing information on their mutual friend -- novelty bandleader Spike Jones. In full: "I sincerely hope that you enjoy my new movie, 'Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?'. I suppose you flipped as I did over Spike Jones' new album 'Dinner Music for People Who Aren't Very Hungry'. Love, Jayne. P.S. Incidentally; Spike, Helen, and 'The Band That Plays For Fun', open at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas on Sept. 4." Three very light creases at the upper right hand margin that do not detract from the uniqueness of this item -- otherwise fine condition.

Comments: American film, theater, and television actress best known as a major sex symbol of the 1950s and early 1960s. She died in an automobile accident on June 29, 1967 at age 34.
