Description: 2 pages, 7.25 x 4.5 inches, Argyll Street, London, April 20, 1829. Written in his run-on sentence style with no punctuation, he is selling a portrait of King George IV and comparing it to the work of his mentor Sir Joshua Reynolds, in part: "...I have received your favor of your draft for sixty pounds for which I return you...I never in my whole life have received for any picture other than guineas...and I do not think that price beyond the merits of the picture - as I may very safely assure you that there is no portrait of his Majesty King George the fourth now in existence that can be bought into any comparison with it...except those by Sir Joshua Reynolds." Several handwritten corrections; bottom left corner repaired. Very good(-) condition.
Comments: English portrait and landscape painter who studied under Sir Joshua Reynolds.Signed: Y
