Description: Copper line engraving with hand-coloring. Image measures 6.75" x 10.75".

Comments: This hand-colored engraving, published circa 1784, provides a view toward Westminster Bridge in Londno, taken from the tree-lined riverside walk near the Buckingham (York) Water Gate. A number of small boats float on the river. In the foreground, a couple walks on the promenade, their dog in tow. A decorative border surrounds the image and title. The print was published in Walpoole's "New and Complete British Traveller." It is in good condition with some discoloration around the border. Very minor foxing. A lovely view of London's natural landscape.

Your beautifully wrapped package of books -- two copies of "Journal in the Night" -- arrived at my door this morning and made my day! A thousand thanks for the care you took, first to find them, and then to send them as you did, all done up with tissue paper to boot. It was like Christmas in June AND it was my first experience buying books on the Internet. All the best to you, and perhaps our paths will cross again. - Janet B.
