Description: 4 pages, 3 blank, 8.25 x 6 inches, manuscript on printed official stationery, round state seal, Port-au-Prince, April 16, 1816. This letter, written in French, directs the keeper of the state warehouse to provide cloth and other furnishings for a uniform for one of his army officers, in part: "...invite le Garde Magasin de l'Etat a delivrer du drap necessaire a faire un Habit de la toile pour le doubler une garniture de boutons au Lieutenant Jean Salie du 3e Regt." Right edges frayed; uneven toning. Very good(-) condition.
