Description: Map. Cerograph. Image measures 16 3/4 x 22 1/2".
Comments: This graphic and detailed double-page map depicts New York divided into counties. The state is outlined in a vivid pink, and county borders are highlighted in yellow. Red letters indicate railroad lines, which are depicted with solid or hatched lines depending on if they are finished or unfinished, respectively. The index includes towns and waterways. Two insets show the five boroughs and Long Island. The map is in excellent condition, with a small tear in the bottom right corner. After serving in the Union army, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map business and later established his own engraving and publishing firm in Chicago in 1869. This is an excellent example of his cerography.Binding: unbound
