Description: 3.5 x 5.5 inches, Menemsha, Massachusetts, July 12, 1965. Signed "Saul" on the back of a picture postcard of Martha's Vineyard, with the recipient's address written completely in Bellow's hand. Written to acclaimed stage, screen, and television actress Tresa Hughes, concerning the theater and reviews he has received of her role as Marcella in an untitled Broadway play. In full: "One of these days we must have our talk about the theatre. I've been dabbling with a view to serious involvement. My wife is entirely against it. She believes I should stick to what I know, like our friend Hilda. I heard marvelous reports. Friends and even enemies wrote to me, and everyone praised you. I liked you best as Marcella. Thought you were great. Affectionately, Saul." Small tear and stain; very good(-) condition.
