Comments: Charming black and white painting on panel of an interior of an inn or a tavern. Two men are seated at a table in the background, while the focus is on an older woman emerging from an open door serving food and drink. Circa 1884. Painting is in excellent condition. Paine (1858-1905) was an American artist born in Vermont. He studied art and worked many years in Philadelphia and later in Paris.
