Description: 3 x 6.5 inches, postmarked "Air Mail Field, Cleveland, Ohio," August 30, 1929. The First Day Cover commemorates the 1929 National Air Races and Aeronautical Exposition, August 21st to September 2nd, just four weeks after his historic flight to Spain. Fine condition.

Comments: American Aviator who, in July 1929, broke the over-water flying record of Charles A. Lindbergh by making a non-stop flight from Old Orchard Beach, Maine to Santander, Spain. The incredible 3,400-mile flight took 31 hours and 30 minutes.
