Description: Interesting collection of 18 First Day, Launch, Landing, Space Walk, and Recovery imprinted cachet commemorative cancelled covers all pertaining to various space flights of the Apollo program. Each is postmarked on the day of its respective historical event. Includes Apollo 11: (6) different First Day Covers of stamp C-76 all with Moon Landing (July 20, 1969) and First Day (September 9, 1969) cancellations. One additional cover commemorates the recovery by the USS Hornet CVS-12, postmarked, Cape Canaveral, July 24, 1969. Apollo 14: (8) different covers including two different launch (January 31, 1971), Entering Moon Orbit (February 4, 1971), (2) Moon Landing (February 5, 1971), Lift Off (February 6, 1971) and two Splashdown and Recovery issues (February 9, 1971). Apollo 15: Cover honoring Al Worden's feat of performing 3 separate Space Walks (August 5, 1971). Also included: Two cachet First Day Covers honoring Apollo 11 from Dominica. A very attractive assemblage in near fine condition.
