Description: 10 x 8 inches, no place, no date, circa 1970 -- a full-length image of Holley bowing his upright bass. The pen has skipped causing three letters in Major to appear quite faded. Very good condition.

Comments: American Jazz upright bassist best known for his work with Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker, and Oscar Peterson. He is credited with inventing the style of Bowing Bass and humming simultaneously.

You've got yourself one happy customer at this end, folks. I've been looking for another copy of "West of the Indus" for nearly twenty years (I know, it's such a cultural wasteland out here in the provinces), and I never expected to find one with a dust jacket. I am amazed. Thank you so much. I've enjoyed many books over the years, but this one has always been one of my favorites.
