1 page, 9 x 8 inches, Royston, January 15, 1790. Written to Daniel Adams, publisher of "The Society of Arts Monthly," an important publication that kept artists, architects, and scientists up-to-date on Government Commissions and private endowments, in part: "Enclosed I send you a draft for four guineas...my arrears of subscription up to Christmas last which you will have the goodness to place to my credit. Give me a line that this came to hand. I shall be glad from time to time to have the publication of the Society. If I was in town when they met...I would have had the pleasure in attending...being most sincerely in their thoughts". Usual folds, otherwise very good condition.
Considered by many to be the most important British architect of the era encompassing the later half of the 18th century until his death in 1835. He is responsible for much of the layout of Regency London. Nash designed and laid out Regents Park and its Terraces (1813 - 1820), using radical designs that would heavily influence Olmstead in his creation of Central Park, New York City, 50 years later. In 1825 he redesigned Buckingham House and, with its new splendor, became known as Buckingham Palace.
