Price: $200.00

Date Published: 1993

Description: Original oversize Doubleday Books Marketing postcard, 5.25 x 8.5 inches, distributed to promote the 41st anniversary of the release of Ray Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles." To commemorate the event, Doubleday released a collector's edition volume featuring a new foreword by Bradbury and an additional story, "The Fire Balloons," which was removed from the original book. The front features a fantasy illustration depicting Martians on an alien landscape, in a style reminiscent of Frank Frazetta, signed: "Good Wishes to Howard Moliff from Ray Bradbury, 9/3/93". The back contains the announcement by Doubleday Books of the re-release of "The Martian Chronicles" and more. Apparently, the recipient of this card has affixed a very scarce wine label from Bradbury's vineyard: "1998 Dandelion Wine - Bradbury Vineyards - Bottled on the Estate, Greentown, Illinois," to the postcard, on which Bradbury has signed, gracing both the label and the card with his signature. Fine condition.
