Description: 1 page, 11 x 8.5 inches, New York City, February 12, 1932. This letter was written by an early anti-drug organization that brought about the reefer-madness era, successfully lobbying the United States Government in placing such substances as marijuana on the Dangerous Drug criminalization List -- with a call for lengthy prison sentences for the most minute possession, in small part: "This menace of narcotic drug addiction is now threatening the welfare of peoples everywhere and is one of the urgent major problems of the world." Several folds, closed tears, and adhesive remnants; good condition but still a beautiful and historically important item.

Comments: United States Admiral who won the Medal of Honor in 1898, blowing up the Collier vessel "Merrimac" in Santiago Harbor, effectively bottling up the Spanish Fleet.
