Description: Outstanding and historically important real-life photo postcard showing Chamberlin being mobbed by the German public soon after setting a long-distance flying record in 1927. 4 x 6 inches, boldly signed directly above his image and dated 1940. There is a brief biography of Chamberlin printed on the back. Small creases at the corners; still very good condition.
Comments: American pioneer aviator who, in 1927, established a new long-distance world record by carrying the first passenger across the Atlantic from Roosevelt Field, Long Island, to Eisleben, Germany. He flew a distance of 3,905 miles in 43 hours and 31 minutes, using 450 gallons of Amoco-Gas.Signed: Y
