Description: Excellent grouping of three items from Salvini's last American tour in 1889, including (1) a fine signature "Tommaso Salvini" on a 2.25 x 3.75-inch card, Ballimora, December 14, 1889 [Ballimora Theatre, Boston], (2) a fine 6.5 x 4.25-inch cabinet card photograph depicting Salvini sitting in a chair with a serious expression on his face, Boston, circa 1889, with an elaborate Ritz and Hastings back stamp, and (3) a scarce original program, 4 pages, 6.5 x 5 inches, titled "Salvini...Farewell," issued during his very last performance in the United States, appearing in The Gladiator, March 2, [1889], opposite the acclaimed Marie Prescott. Exceptional graphics and advertisements by some of the most prestigious New York retailers of the time. All items are in very good condition.

Comments: Italian actor who was particularly successful performing in both England and America. He is best known for his role as Othello, often appearing with Edwin Booth.
