3 pages (front and back) each measuring 5.25 x 8.25 inches, no place, April 28, 1859. Written at the height of his literary success while exiled to England, enclosing a book on behalf of the "Gazette des Beaux Arts," and offering encouragement concerning a friend's financial misfortunes, in part: "Charles will solve things...I do not doubt you've done your best...but I fear that the newspaper is not well suited for inserting an article..." One horizontal fold and tiny pieces of a paper adhesive on the blank fourth page; still very good condition.

French politician and historian who favored socialist reforms and the creation of cooperatives in order to guarantee employment for the urban poor. His literary works include "Histoire de la Revolution Francaise" (12 volumes) and "Histoire de la Revolution de 1848" (2 volumes).
