Comments: Out of 150 copies this is one of twenty copies for presentation by the author. Signed by George Lyman. Slipcase has small areas of light edgewear. The book itself is in fine condition. John Marsh was a physician, who was a sub-agent to the Sioux Indians from 1824 to 1832. In 1836, Marsh moved to Los Angeles and a year later settled on his ranch in the San Joaquin Valley, near Antioch. He practiced medicine and grew wealthy from cattle ranching and gold mining interests until his murder in 1856.
