Comments: Beautifully detailed map of the western coast of America from San Diego to Kodiak, based upon the explorations of of Captain George Vancouver in the early 1790s. The map details major coastal points and geographical features including Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, San Diego, Vancouver Island and Prince William's Sound. Vancouver's paths are also outlined and dated. Rare and undocumented German edition, reduced in size from first English edition. Attributed to Friedrich Muller Weimar (printed lower right) and engraved by Pirch (printed lower left). A magnificent specimen of early American maps. Slight scattered toning, particularly along left margin.
